The UK has many fascinating museums and galleries and this new page will develop as I add more links.

England

Liverpool

International Slavery Museum – discover the untold stories of enslaved people and learn about historical and cotemporary slavery. The International Slavery Museum explores both the historical and contemporary aspects of slavery, addressing the many legacies of the slave trade and telling stories of bravery and rebellion amongst the enslaved people. The museum is open all year except 24th December after 2pm), the 25th and 26th December and 1st January. Admission is free.

World Museum – the World Museum combines historic treasures from around the world with the latest interactive technology. Learn about the Earth, space and time, the natural world and the human world. The museum has an aquarium, a bug house, a theatre and a planetarium. The museum is open all year except 24 December after 2pm, the 25th and 26th December and 1st January. Admission is free.

London

The National Gallery – the National Gallery is home to over 2300 wonderful paintings and includes works by Michelangelo, Constable, Cézanne, Monet, van Gogh, da Vinci, Rembrandt and Rubens. There is also live music and a cinema. You can explore the collections online. The gallery is open all year except 24th – 26th December and 1st January. Admission is free.

Science Museum – the Science Museum is world renowned for its historic collections, awe-inspiring galleries and inspirational exhibitions. The museum is open every day except 24th – 26th December. Admission is free.

Victoria and Albert Museum  – this museum has many diferent fascinating collections exploring various cultures. Collections include furniture, glass, scultpture, theatre, photography, paintings and drawings, architecture, textiles and ceramics. You can watch videos and listen to podcasts via this website. Admission to the museum is free (some events and exhibitions have a separate charge). The museum is open every day except 24th – 26th December.

National Roman Legion Museum – In AD 75, the Romans built a fortress at Caerleon. Today at the National Roman Legion Museum you can learn what made the Romans a formidable force and how life wouldn’t be the same without them. Admission is free.
