If someone, or something, falls through something they drop from one side to the other.

Examples of use:

1. My brother was fixing a broken roof tile and he fell through the roof.

2. Don’t walk on the frozen pond. You might fall through the ice.

If a business deal or an arrangement falls through it does not happen.

Examples of use:

1. Plans to build a new superstore in the town have fallen through.

2. Their wedding plans fell through when the bride became ill.
